Bon Jovi Live

19-09-15, Merdeka Stadium

The Bon Jovi  KL Live was a concert tour by the rock band Bon Jovi. Staged in support of the band's thirteenth studio album Burning Bridges, the tour played arenas and open-air venues at the end of 2015 throughout Asia. It was the band's first tour without guitarist Richie Sambora.

“We’ve toured around the world since 1995 and are excited to reunite with our Malaysian fans again! See you on September 19th!“ -Jon Bon Jovi

Anyone who knows me would definitely know that I’m a die-hard Bon Jovi fan since the last 20 years (I'll share more in a separate article feature on how it all begun) and when I heard that Bon Jovi is coming to town, I got 2 front row tickets as One of the most important bands in the history of rock and popular music returns to Kuala Lumpur as part of their newly released Studio Album, Burning Bridges.

The last time I got a glimpse of Bon Jovi was back in 2008 in Coventry when the band had their Lost Highway Tour at the Ricoh Stadium which is just 15 minutes from where I was staying at that time (Novotel Coventry)

Lost Highway is the tenth studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi, released on June 8, 2007, in the US

So back to the eventful night at Merdeka Stadium, I reached as early as 6pm before the concert and if my memory does not fail me, they kicked off their concert with ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home’ their Grammy Award Winning single and to my amaze, the crowd actually sang along the whole concert (ok, I seriously thought that I was the only Bon Jovi Fan in Malaysia šŸ˜‚)

Those front row seaters all rushed to the front of the stage and we stood there until the end of the concert.

The fans got lucky enough when the front row crowd got to see Bon Jovi up close when he came down to high five the crowd. Even I managed to have a high five with my childhood rocker hero.

Fast forward 5 years later with the new norm of practicing social distancing, concerts won’t be or feel the same. Still managed to watch a Live Streamed Bon Jovi concert with Alannah. It was broadcasted also on 19-09-20 in the iHearts concert event when they opened their gig with their new single, “Do What You Can”

We even participated in a duet for this song where Bon Jovi started with the 1st verse and chorus before fans get to continue with the 2nd verse and chorus. Rock on Bon Jovi & thank you for the memories šŸ¤˜šŸ»šŸŽøšŸŽ¼šŸŽ§
